From the first computer to the last Asimo in japan, passing by all the generations of computers, the Robot became an icon of the High-Tech culture, who never dream to have an I.A assissting you in different task, or piloting one of those giant mechas you see in the japanimation ? So, as a first article for this Blog, I present to you, the different type of robots !

The "Asimov" Robot.

This type of robot as been introduce by Isaac Asimov, those robot can feel feelings that a real robot is not supposed to feel, you can see some of them in "I Robot" or "The bicential man", this type of robot is made for create a reflexion about the feelings, a real robot can feel real feelings ? It's really interresting to think about this message and thoses robots are maybe the future of the humanity but; who know !

The Mechas

The most cool and awesome type of robot ever ! This is the dream of every kids who see some animes like Goldorak or Power Rangers, it's a part of our childhood ! If you stop on it, the Mechas are not really robots beacause they're piloted by humans but some of them got a semi-conscience ( like in Evangelion ) or an I.A, whatever, the mechas are a must-know for every fans of robots.

The "funny bot"

This is a kind of clown in the movie, you can see some of them in the Star Wars serie with C3PO or the CSI robots, they're here for make us laught but, scenaristicly, they're nothing...

The "Born" Robot

This is a really special type of robot because he don't see the world as we see it and his psychology can be seen as childish or strange, sometype it's because he don't know who he is ( and he got a conscience ) or because he is made from n other person, the ideas are the same but the result not. In the game Metal Gear Solid : Peace Walker the protagonist is confronted with robots who have very new (and primitives ) type of I.A and during the fight, the robots are only talking by singing inarticulated artificial song werewas, at the final fight, the I.A is copied from the mentor of the hero but the robot have the order to launch a nuke, this action is in tottaly contradiction with the personnality of The Boss ( the mentor of the hero), proving that the robot don't really know who he is . In finnally the robot kill hiself because he know he is a weapon of massive destruction, and he don't want to hurt.

This type of robot i hard to find but really intersting because his story can go in many possibles ways !

The I.A

They can be bad ( HAL from 2001 ) they can be good ( CORTANA from the Halo serie ) the fact is that they have no real form and they can mostly only act by speaking or hacking, A lot of them can be corrupted if they have the wrong knowledge and the I.A is an important point of the robot culture because this is where it begin, the brains, the capacity to think by themself.

Bonus : The Cyborg.

If the myth of the robot is like Prometheus, the Myth of the cyborg is like Icare a cyborg is a human who as been "augmented" by a cybernetic way and make him partially a robot, this is the representation of the superman, the human can be more than what his corpse is and that why the representation of the cyborg can be joined to the Icare myth.

There is many other type of robots but the list will be to long, i can talk about the super computers like in Terminator or else but...
